I’m going to be starting my first project for A level Product Design soon, I can’t really think what to make, so I’m looking for some suggestions, preferably something for the home, as whatever I make i’d like it to be beneficial lol, the best I can come up with is different forms of cabinets / storage units. But if you can think of something better, please suggest. It can be made from Plastic or Wood, and can contain glass + metal.

Thanks in advance (:

For my A level product design I took the thing I liked most (video games) and came up with a few ideas from that i could make out of it and i ended up making a product that changed the way we play video games and just generally watch tv and movies, so what im saying is take something from around the house and revolutionise the way you use it (make it easier) in my case tv etc is very common in households so i thought about how people interact with it and how it could become better so i ended up making a entertainment style chair system as people sit to interact. the point is challenge the way we do things in todays world and where you think it should go from here with whatever you chose. and its also better if the product is made out of recycle materials that way its better for the environment (and extra marks). good luck :)

Is my essay any good?

Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in Los Altos, California. He is Co-founder, Chairman, and former CEO of Apple Inc. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak high school friends and both college dropouts joined together to start Apple Computer in 1976. They are credited for inventing the first computer for home use. They made it possible for people to have a computer anywhere in their home, or on an office desk, where previously a single computer took up a whole room. There creation changed the world. However Steve Jobs didn’t change what was in the products but how they looked, functioned, and what they meant.
In 1776 the Apple I was finished being created. Jobs and Wozniak had spent six months creating the prototype of the Apple I in a garage. Originally they had hoped to sell the PC to other members in the Homebrew Computer Club, which they were a part of, however because Wozniak was an employee of HP to produce electronic devices professionally, he had to get a legal release from HP. So instead of asking for the release form they offered the PC to Hewlett Packard first. But no one at HP was interested in it. Since they were turned down Jobs insisted on producing the Apple I on their own. Jobs sold his old Volkswagen Bus and Wozniak sold his programmable HP calculator and together they accumulated around $1,250. They began to produce the first Apple I mainboards. Jobs, Wozniak, and Wayne a former colleague from Atari, faced one problem that could have kept them from going ahead with production. They did not have enough money to make the 50 computers that a local store “Byte Shop” wanted to order. Each Apple I would cost $100 dollars to build and sell for $666.66. Job’s keen business sense pushed him to convince a local parts supplier to give him the parts on a 30 day net credit. They completed building the computers in their garage in 10 days and delivered on their first order. In May 1976, HP finally granted Wozniak permission for the Apple I. After the success of the Apple I, Jobs and his business partners began to explore possibility of a more advanced system.

Jobs and Wozniak planned for The Apple II to include a color display, eight internal expansion slots, and a case with a keyboard. In the fall of 1976 Wozniak finished the Apple II prototype. Jobs realized that it could become a major success; however they still lacked funds to produce it in large quantities. In 1977 Mike Markkula invested $92,000 in Apple. It wasn’t until The Apple II that Jobs PC hit it big. While the power of computing formerly had been available only to techies, it was suddenly delivered to classrooms, dens, and offices. Apple II was introduced in 1977 as the first fully assembled, programmable microcomputer. Nevertheless this machine still required customers to use their televisions as screens and to use audio cassettes for data storage. The Apple II sold for just under $1,300. The Apple II was the first true "personal computer" it was factory built, in-expensive and easy to learn and use. It provided the most extensive set of software, low cost floppy disks and easy modem operation. It eventually became one of the most popular computers ever due in part to the VisiCalc spreadsheet program (similar to today’s Excel) it was a business tool that made adoption of the Apple II a regular part of business. This was how Steve Jobs got his start… but it’s not how he became famous.
Steve Jobs was a part of something that changed how we thought forever. We knew after the Apple II that everyone could in fact own a computer, something that was previously unheard of and it changed everything. Jobs became famous for his designs and ideas of how things could be used. He didn’t only pay attention to what was in his products but what they looked like and what they meant to his buyers. That is how he changed the world, not with what his products have in them, all of the components of his products are the same as any other out there, but with how they look and what they make easier in our lives. No one goes out and says oh I’m going to buy a MP3 player that’s only 29.00$, they’re going to want to buy Apples iPod even if they have the same software. When you buy an apple product you’re not just buying the actual product your buying what the product represents. Job’s ability to take what he wants in a phone, portable music device, and computer and make it real and wanted by the masses is a gift.
In conclusion, Steve Jobs changed the world not only with the invention of the Apple II in 76’which was in collaboration with Steve Wozniak, but with how he thinks. When Job’s thinks of the next big thing in technology he thinks about what he would want. He makes products that make life easier, they look good and they represent an idea.

Since they were turned down Jobs insisted on producing the Apple I on their own.

Anticipating your urgent response.

100% scam.

There is no job. There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money and maybe your freedom.

The next email will be from another of the scammer’s fake names and free email addresses pretending to be the "assistant" and will demand you accept packages purchased with stolen credit cards, hi-jacked paypal accounts and spoofed bank transfers, at YOUR home address. Then you are suppose to use a stolen UPS/FedEx billing account number to send the electronics, clothing and jewelry overseas. When the websites, credit card/paypal/bank account owners and UPS/FedEx discover the fraud, you get the real life job of paying back ALL of them. Then the local law enforcement comes knocking asking why are you fencing stolen merchandise for someone you never met, don’t know their real life name and have no idea in what country they really live.

Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his ‘potential sucker’ list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of being the perfect buyer, great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.

Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.

6 "Rules to follow" to avoid most fake jobs:
1) Job asks you to use your personal bank account and/or open a new one.
2) Job asks you to print/mail/cash a check or money order.
3) Job asks you to use Western Union or moneygram in any capacity.
4) Job asks you to accept packages and re-ship them on to anyone.
5) Job asks you to pay visas, travel fees via Western Union or moneygram.
6) Job asks you to sign up for a credit reporting or identity verification site.

Avoiding all jobs that mention any of the above listed ‘red flags’ and you will miss nearly all fake jobs. Only scammers ask you to do any of the above. No. Exceptions. Ever. For any reason. If you google "fake re-shipping job", "fraud money mule scam", or something similar you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near victims of this type of scam.
